CNC Chiller Keeps Getting Found Unplugged

Whoever is doing this, this is the second time I’ve found the chiller unplugged from the CNC machine, and I can’t make heads or tails of it. The only thing I can think of is that someone is temporarily unplugging it to plug in a vacuum etc at either the sanding table or to clear off the CNC table. Want to let you know that you are forgetting to plug it back in when you are done! Worried new CNC users may forget to check this, despite the big warning sign on the machine, and potentially cause damage to it without the chiller. Please never unplug it thank you.

Thanks for catching this and posting about it. There was originally an idea to swap the cord out with locking NEMA L5-15 plugs so that users would not be tempted to use it as a general purpose outlet. That might be a good project for the upcoming workday.

We can also wire it direct.

I’m all for the direct wiring method or anything else you guys think will make it more fool-proof. I just see it getting missed too easily.

If we direct wire. Is there a way to shut it off if there is an electrical issue? I like the locking plug.

Put a longer cord on the pump and move the outlet inside the cabinet. Then anyone with the keys can unplug it for maintenance.
