Anyone have any experience with something like this? Would love some help/advice!
First step is to define your goals. What do you need to use it for? How much storage and solar capacity do you need? What physical size and shape do you want?
There are a lot of practical options now for lithium. Ebay has some great deals on EV batteries from Tesla or Leaf EVs. Some from wrecked cars, some were underperforming packs that someone reconditioned by replacing problem cells. Or, you can recondition them by doing the same work.
Iām looking for others to go in on a Prius Prime: 8.8kwh configured as 19S 1.75kwh modules with threaded terminals cans of pouch cells. These are sold alongside standard Prius batteries at some of the boneyards for a similar price.

You can save some headaches by going with one of these which are the best bang-for-the-buck or a $180/kwh BMW i3 module if it needs to be square.
