If you destroy the inserts on a bit, please report the problem. Donating to help replace them would be nice too.
I replaced the inserts with the last 2 Asmbly had, and 2 from my personal collection.
Lets try to have nice things.

How does that even happen surfacing marble?
Is that our community slab-slayer endmill?
Although carbide is very dense and strong is also very brittle. So if the inserts are not properly seated, off-center, loose, they will break. Also too slow rpm’s and too fast plunge? Too fast rpm’s hitting tough knots in dense wood? There was a mention that the water chiller has been found turned off so in a lengthy run the rotating head would be the first to overheat causing stress on the metal. Hard to know. One thing for sure the bit should have been tagged as defective and taken out of commission.
It is the community bit.
All of @JOSEGAYTAN theories can be correct. Even it the damage was just normal wear and tear, this should have been reported.
I’d really like to keep track of things like this and log how often we’re replacing it. Can you send me the link for what you’re using?
