Yellow tagged!
I think it’s safe to move this from red to yellow tag. Hopefully by next week I can move it to a normal operational state.
Problem:
Lathe won’t show power, or won’t start.
Reason:
- The e-stop button is a push / pull. The twist does nothing. I’m not sure if the twist is supposed to pop the button out. If you notice the LED screen is off, then pull the E-Stop button out.
- The start button is jammed. It’s a noticeable difference between the start button and stop button when pressing in. If you really push hard on the start button (close to the center of the whole button) then it may trigger and start the machine.
Solution:
- Waiting on Laguna support to provide information on the E-Stop button.
- Will replace the start/stop button.
What does this mean for me right now?
I’m removing the red tag status. Just remember to make sure the E-stop is pulled out, LED turns on, and really push in that start button.
Troubleshooting steps:
Using the continuity check guide provided by Laguna Support, I unplugged the machine, opened the control panel, then plugged the machine in to check for continuity in all of the buttons and switches.
I found the continuity in the start/stop mechanism was working as intended when the switch was detatched from the wiring. However noticed the switch was not triggering the completed circuit.
I also noticed the E-Stop was not active. When trying to disconnect it I noticed it was operating like a pull/push.
Videos attached show steps (for learning purposes only. Please do not perform your own maintenance on the machines unless you are authorized to do so).
