Best way to cut 26G galvanized sheet metal?

I’m making a magnet board out of 26 gauge galvanized steel sheet (the kind you buy at HW/Lowe’s) but I need to cut a few inches off a long edge (it’s 24"x36" and I need to make it 20.5"x36"). What’s the best tool for this job? It doesn’t have to be pretty or perfect as it will be buried in a frame. I have nibblers and metal sheers I could use, but with it being a 3’ cut that could be slow/tiring so just want to make sure there isn’t a smarter not harder solution here.

Plasma cutter and a straight edge. Otherwise a grinder with a cutoff wheel.

Sweet, thanks guys!

Side note: a decent shear and box pan brake would probably be good things to put on the metal shop “capital purchase” list.

Yep, we’re already discussing it on slack. I just added it to the wishlist Wish List - Asmbly Wiki

When plasma cutting galvanized steel, the fumes that result are toxic.

snert. I learned of this watching a guy weld some galvanized pipe by starting 15’ way, taking a few deep breaths, running over, welding a couple inches, running away, breathe a bit, repeat…

Tin snips shouldn’t take more than 10 seconds.

I’d totally love a large brake! The larger the better for me. Going to 48" would be a big help for me. Something like the Manual Press Brake and Shear 3-in-1- SBR-5220 | Baileigh Industrial, since sheet metal tends to come in 4’ widths.

I believe that Grizzly does 50" and 52" brakes and shears for exactly that reason (dealing with 48" sheet metal).

The Baleigh sounds fantastic. Rolling would be helpful.
