Automated Blast Gates Round 2

You may notice for every tool from the band saws all the way to the table saws, there is now a piece of hardware attached to the blast gate with a red or green light on it. The green light means it is open and hopefully the tool is on too!

The red light means it is closed.

We still need to hook up the miter saw and the Sanders, as well as the drop hose, however, the rest of the tools are hooked up and functioning well.

This should improve the suction for the tools that are actually being used as well as ensure that blast gates are not forgotten when a tool is in use.

Special notes:

  • the wide belt sander will show all the way open when it is green. It will show halfway open when it is off. This is because the wide belt is effectively acting as our bleed valve. This having this trunk of air always pulling will ensure the main trunk stays powerful and clear.
  • when the joiner is on the gate will be half open. When it is off it will be fully closed. This is because it is so powerful at this point that it will pull all the dust out of that bin if the gate is fully open.
Special thanks to @ewei For hooking up all the wiring for us and @McG For getting all of the automation hardware physically installed.
