## 🛠️ August CNC Meetup Recap – Fancy Jewelry, Frames, and Inlays

Another month, another CNC crew showing off cool stuff and giving each other some grief :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. Here’s what went down:

:world_map: Robby – Topo Mappin’

Robby brought in a CNC’d topo map and is dialing in the resolution to make every ridge and ravine pop. High-def elevation incoming.

:ring: Adam – Goldsmith on a Mission

Visiting from the East Coast, Adam hand-finishes luxury gold rings, napkin holders, and bracelets. His work is high-end, gallery-worthy, and ready to elevate your dinner party game. Find him on Instagram here:

:clinking_beer_mugs: CNC Saloon Special: Adjustable Bar Stools

@jamesfreeman brought in the adjustable bar stools he made for the CNC Saloon along with @SteveW last Friday. I guess they’re planning to make the CNC Saloon the classiest saloon west of the Mississippi.

:framed_picture: @SteveW – Molding Master

Steve also showed off a stunning picture frame he crafted using the molding toolpath. Intricate work, clean lines, and ready to house a masterpiece. Bonus: he’s planning to get a Slate truck next year. Stylish CNC on AND off road.

:wood: Frank – Inlay Sorcerer

@sneezix hit us with an inlay reveal full of suspense and style—I swear, I thought he was never gonna show us his inlay! Bonus advice from the crew: purpleheart wood turns brown when sanded, but if you set it in the sun it’ll return to its natural purple color.

:brick: Joaquim – Hot Plastic Redemption

My Multiboard print started as a disaster—overheating, restart loops, and a printer on the verge of quitting. But after building a full exhaust fan, shroud, and filter setup, the print finally ran and nothing caught fire.

:broom: @bwatt – Skirt Duty Champion

Shoutout to Brian for replacing the dust skirt on the CNC machine—an often overlooked, yet heroic act of shop maintenance. Clean cuts and cleaner lungs await us all. We appreciate it, Brian!

:date: Next Month’s Theme: Do Your Homework!

Yes, this one’s pointed mostly at me (fair). Got a half-finished project? Time to bring it to life!

:spiral_calendar: Sunday, September 7th @ 12:30 PM, right after the Laser SIG
:round_pushpin:Same time, same place

Excellent write up as always! Sorry to have missed it, I was on vacation for the sig and cnc salon. I need to be better about scheduling around cnc weekend.

Next months theme is intimidating. Is is bad that I can’t decide which unfinished project to finish…
