I’m excited to announce a new quarterly event titled Asmbly Maker Showcase, championed by Alex Gao! This event will be hosted in person in the Asmbly Multipurpose Room on Saturday, July 20th from 12:00pm - 2:30pm.
During the event, Asmbly Showcase Presenters will take turns sharing cool projects and inspiration, exchanging tips, and answering questions. Each presenter will have approx. 18 minutes for their presentation and Q+A portion, and will use this time to present one main project. Whether it’s a passion project or a professional endeavor, a learning experience, or a quick tutorial, this is a platform for everyone! In addition, breakout sessions will scatter between presentations, enabling deeper connections, collaborations, and open discussion.
Sign ups to become a presenter at this event are now open to all Asmbly members! Please fill out this form if you are interested in being a Presenter! Applications are due by Monday, July 8th. This is a great way to share your knowledge, promote your small business if you have one, and engage with the Asmbly community!
The Asmbly Maker Showcase aims to cultivate an engaging, open environment to promote knowledge sharing, membership, and forge impactful connections. Thank you so much to Alex Gao who has led this initiative thus far! If you are more interested in volunteering to help with the event rather than present during the showcase, keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of weeks for a SignUp Genius link to sign up for volunteering! Please let me know if you have any questions
@torchedguitar and I are excited to present about the wedding decorations we made for our wedding! We had some fun engineering problems we had to solve for our seating chart design and were very pleased with how it turned out.
Who else will present an interesting project with us?
I applied for a presenter position but I didn’t hear anything back. How do I know if and when I’m presenting? Also my project is a bookshelf and entertainment center. Can I bring them and set them up at the event or just have pictures of them on a slideshow?
Hey Keaton, we’ve already spoke but this is for everyone else. The registration to present for this event is already closed. But you will be first in line to have the option to present for the next event which is October 19th.
We encourage you to bring your physical projects if possible, please describe your need when you fill out the registration so we can do our best to make accommodations to display them properly.
