I have a cheap acrylic bender, which I got for one project that I’ve finished. While I’m sure I can find other uses for it, I figure it would see more use if it could live at the shop.
I have used it for 1/8" and 1/4" acrylic, it seems pretty easy to get good results. It is usable as is, but if I do anything else with it I will probably build some guide attachments to make it a bit easier to work with.
It is a 12" unit, so it packs up pretty small, but when in use it is supposed to be water cooled, so it requires e.g. a 5 gallon bucket of water and some tubes. It’s a bit awkward to set up and probably takes up enough space that it wouldn’t make sense to keep permanently assembled.
Anyone interested? How can I learn more about how hosting tools works? Or would it make more sense for ASMBLY to just buy one directly?
The 12" option here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HKSPJYQ, I think I paid around the current price of $70, I almost wish I got the 24" version for a bit more.
When I used it, the water didn’t really heat up much if at all, I’m not sure the water cooling is truly necessary for brief usage, but I didn’t want to damage the heating element on the first use.
