A piece of 12mm Columbia Purebond plywood lit on fire on me tonight. This almost certainly only happened because Tarkin is still at half power and thus I had to slow it waaaaay down to cut through, but the general example stands: keep a watch on cuts and keep the spray bottle handy.
All’s well that ends well. And luckily this particular cut isn’t precious to me w.r.t. having a perfect edge.
FWIW, the Columbia Purebond brand of plywood that Home Depot usually stocks is nice, clean even density 3-ply that Tarkin cuts very cleanly when at full power. Definitely recommend in general.
