To be clear, this is a low-power small laser capable of etching only 8" x 12".
That said: $80.
This laser comes with proprietary software but may be hackable with Ortur firmware.
A friend and I are going to give it a try and, if successful, then it’ll work with Lightburn.
Three watts isn’t going to rock your world but it’d be a nice laser etching tool for home.
Another cheap laser just popped up at $60 for a 3 watts.
Don’t expect a lot but for that price it brings a little laser etching home.
Mine arrived overnight!
Seems these may be some kind of amazon ranking “scam”. They offer a cheap price to get high interest and sales, then put a normal price after their rankings are good. Both lasers are now unavailable and will probably be listed at their correct prices soon. Still, if you manage to grab one of these and they don’t beg you to cancel your order then you win.
It appears that the firmware on these can be flash upgraded to support GRBL and work with Lightburn. I’ll give it a try and report back.
