You may have noticed these in the corner of the welding area recently but if not I’m here to share some pics of the adjustable welding arms I specifically made for the new Adv. MIG class though available for anyone that could get some use out of them! Two adjustable arms: one with a needle-nose adjustable vice grip, and one with a curved jaw vice grip. These make it easier to practice more out-of-position welds like vertical up/down, horizontal, and overhead. Clamp one of the bases down to the table you’ve signed up for, slip one of the arms over the top, and tighten the bolt to your desired height. You can also extend the arm to get a little more distance from you and the table.
If you have an upcoming project that requires some out-of-position welds sign up for the Adv. MIG next weekend to get familiar with practicing with the arms, learn how to adjust the machine settings depending on the different welding positions, and most importantly, leaving class with an unfinished project for you to continue practicing with! Even if your only welding experience is taking the intro to MIG, this class this class would be a great next step as each student decides how difficult to make their project.
