Added a few dents to the Laguna Swift's touch plate

I filed a report already but because of a few dents I added to the Swift’s touch plate caused by the probe not working, I would love to donate for a replacement. I can’t find our exact model on the Internet or Laguna’s site though. The touch plate still has plenty of good surface, but I recognize the dents will add yet another one of the many small inconveniences of wear and tear to the communal machine.

If you send me a link I can buy one or just provide funds!

Don’t get a new one; we can easily mill the current one flat again.

@ksandarusi Did this denting occur today (Saturday 9/28)? Can you send me a picture of the touch plate. By the way I changed out the touch plate wiring early this morning with a new red-coil with detangler and I’m worried that it was something I did during the change. Can you tell me more what happened?

Wouldn’t the tool/SW depend on the exact height of the puck? Can the hight be adjusted in the SW ?

Yes, you can adjust the puck height setting.

Hey Brian, sorry for slow reply. Yes it happened Saturday and I made a report for it, but basically the machine didn’t act like it recognized the puck at all. It just kept going.

The first time it happened I thought it might be because my bit wasn’t tight in the collet, because the machine pushed it into the collet. I tightened more heavily the second time and it bent my bit at the same time.

So I basically had to cancel otherwise idk maybe it would have dug to china

Also I didn’t take a picture but I was originally looking for a spot to upload on our Google form report. Maybe something worth adding to the form? If you haven’t been already I’ll be in tonight and I can send one.

Hi Kasey, we removed the field for uploading photos from the problem report form because it required users to have a Google account and log into it. If there are ever any relevant photos for a problem report, you can always post them to discourse.

@ksandarusi I think I need to come in and replace it with the original wiring.

Done. I’m sorry that I missed you up.
