Acrylic bending question

Anyone have experience in shaping acrylic? I need to put a subtle curve into some pieces and I’m trying to devise the best way to do so. So far I think my best idea would be to route said curve into a block of wood and then heat the acrylic and press it into the groove then let it cool.

Anyone have any better Ideas?

That’s the only technique I’ve used. Buy enough material to practice on – I still have trouble getting acrylic soft enough to bend without blistering it

I have a toaster oven that I use to bend small objects. I also found the blister point. I ran the temp lower on the next test and was able to bend it. @Devmani Let me know if you want to borrow the toaster oven?

Yea for sure @JoeN I’ll ping you if I go that route, hell of a lot easier than using my heat gun probably

I found it to be more subtle and even heat. Also I didn’t have to hold the heat gun the entire time

I have no experience in this, but do y’all know if moist vs dry is better or worse? Just curious if that might help. You could add a pan of water in a lower shelf of the toaster if it would be good. Could be a good experiment if no one knows off hand.
