A video about laser cutting

Hey all, just finished my second YouTube video.

It’s about a recent laser cut project, and why I think laser cutters are such a great tool

If you like 3D printers, you’ll love lasers

The fruit bowl turned out great, but DUDE, that cardboard box just blew my mind! Great job and I commented on your YT page too I truly hope your channel blows up and monetizes quickly.

Thank you! I’m going to keep the videos coming. Got quite the backlog of projects to make

Seriously, the ammount of time you spent developing this project, you should be selling the file. Or at the very least create a donation QR for people to support your newly found passion. Knowing how long it took you, i would feel guilty just to take the file. Is interesting to see a project develop. I’m glad the taping tequnique worked for you. I know I use it often because I like working with 1/8” birch plywood and many a time while sanding/cleaning it would break. Great designs for things I never even thought about but seen them, makes me think “I want that.” Thanks for sharing and mostly for making people feel to get creative!

Thanks Jose, I really appreciate that! I do have some ideas on how to monetize this project, but I want to keep all the files and videos completely free.

I am working on some projects that I intend to sell kits for, but for now my top priority is bringing more attention to the channel.

Hearing that the designs are good enough to be worth money means a lot though, and is a signal to me that I’m on the right path.

Well, digital files are an easy passive way to make money. If you look in Etsy, all of the sites have sales/profit metrics. You know sold this many, got this much, material cost, shipping cost, etc. Look at the ones with digital files and it may surprise you. You can still have the file available for free let’s say here in Asmbly and maybe instructables site. Which brings a point, enter contests in that site. Im sure you could win many of those. The ideas you have coming up are that good. From experience, someone is going to take advantage of your free files and make money from them. Again, thanks for sharing!

Another really fantastic one @dernest! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: You are definitely on the right track to have this channel get big. I imagine you’ve got plenty of fellow YouTube maker friends already, but if you’re ever looking for more you might connect with @gordoa40 and chat with him. He started his channel a while back, but really got it taking off somwhat recently. Sadly (for us), he moved up to the Boston area, but I’m excited to use that excuse to visit him at Artisan’s Asylum sometime

Thank you Valerie! And I found Adam’s YouTube channel from another post on here a few weeks ago. I really liked his mechanical flap display!
