Powered off and on, seems to have fixed the issue

I’ve been experiencing this issue intermittently for a couple of months. It reads from the drive initially (after powering on) and at some point it loses the ability to read from the external drive. I transfer data 5-6 times on average and it happens 50% of the time.

Trying a different flash drive etc. doesn’t fix it. When this happens I restart the controller and do not re-home. This is not ideal but it allows me to get the job finished. (BTW this can only work if you assume there is no movement while it is powered off.)

I find it best to transfer your file onto the internal memory so you don’t run into these issues,

Especially on long jobs and when you have multiple tool changes to run on a single piece

Also, doesn’t Laguna recommend max 8GB flash drives? I see in the pick you were using a 16 GB? Does this same behavior happen on 8 GB or smaller flash drives?

It happened on all the flash drives we tested, including the ones provided at the cnc console which I assume are 8GB, but restarting the machine fixed the issue.

It’s still an issue today after a fresh start up. Do we need a new controller? Is there a guaranteed work around?
