8/16 3D Printer Volunteer Day!

The third Sunday of the month is really early this month! It’s time for another volunteer day. Come on by and help us with 3D printer maintenance. It’s a great way to learn about 3D printers and how to improve your own prints, and an easy way to volunteer.

As usual, all skill levels are welcome!

We’ll be there from 11:30-2:30 Sunday.

We’ll also be discussing plans for updating the layout of the 3D Printing space. Stop by if you have opinions about that!

My accumulated TODO items:

  • Check the Dwarf board versions on the Prusa XL
  • Reattach the heatbed cables on Sun Wukong - it’s wonky, and may need new printed pieces.
  • Enter in the hours that I wrote down for a few months back :person_facepalming:

OH! And socialize a Print Request area of some kind, for other shops that need something printed! So stop by if you want to chat about that as well!

Also repairing the respooler. I hope it’s just a missing bearing. And change the charcoal in the enclosure.

I am sad that some of our MPR art has been taken down.

The hope is that the art movmement is only temporary.

Thanks to everyone who helped out. I think that in addition to doing the regular maintenance on all of the printers, we also succeeded in all of our to-do list.

One of our volunteers noticed that Apollo is currently at 999 days and 8 hours of print time! Who’ll be the luck one to push it over 1000?
