Tried everything to get its spindle to spin. Was told it’s finicky. Replugged it in, emergency power on & off, red power off then green power on, nothing nada worked. Is there a secret chant to the tool gods I’m missing?
I don’t remember if the green light comes on when the fuse is blown.
Off the top of my head I don’t recall either. But I’d bet it’s the fuse. I’ll be there tonight. If it’s still blown I’ll change it. That doesn’t help you 
but if that’s the issue it will be fixed.
I assume the fuse is internal to the unit
It is, but pretty easy to get to. It’s behind that piece of blue tape (under the cover, I’ve course) on the upper right side.

Any ideas why the fuse keeps blowing? Does this happen when the drill press is stalled/heavily loaded or something?
Opened the drill press and did a continuity test on the fuse which read “open” so I do think that the fuse is blown. Also the clip holding the fuse is loosely holding it which is not good. I closed it all up afterwards.
Does anyone happen to know what size fuse is currently in there?
Yes it’s been loose for a while. We keep trying to crimp it back together but it keeps going loose.
I haven’t ever done testing. I just replace the fuse. I think others are doing the same but I’m not sure.
There are a bunch more fuses in the stewards closet.
The manual lists a 20A fuse if I am reading it correctly.
Al, I certainly hope you just identified the actual problem–outside the loose connection which @JohnWickham might be able to help fix? Evan @flowmage I think had a few ideas too?
You can get new solder on holders if we don’t already have them. Although these are only rated for 15A…. Amazon.com.
I have a panel mount fuse holder that John Wickham offered to help wire so the fuse would be accessible without disassembling. If we’ve been installing 5A fuses, that’s probably a better remedy.
