3D Scanner to borrow/use?

Does anyone have a 3D scanner that I could use to scan a small object (champagne flute)?

I’m trying to get a 3D model that I can use to CNC out a piece of polyurethane foam, but none of the models that I’m finding online are particularly close to the shape I need, and I thought it might be easier to get the actual objects scanned.

I can just use a model I found online and figure it out, but it would also be really cool to try a 3D scanner if anyone has one they’re willing to let me use for a couple hours.

Just throwing out another alternative. If you don’t need it to be super accurate, you can take a photo and sketch over it in fusion. The video shows how you can scale the photo in fusion to match a measurement you made. Take the photo from father away, but with a zoom lens, can help reduce some distortion.

I have some older setups. I have a kinect camera you can borrow. Scanning software

That’s not a bad idea - I might try that for another project! I’m not very good with drawing curves in Fusion, but practice makes perfect. Appreciate the video.

That looks really cool! Any chance I could pick the Kinect up sometime this weekend/next week? Happy to pick it up from the workspace, or directly from you if you want to DM me your address.

Let me look for it tomorrow and get back to you.

There are free “photogrammetry” phone apps.

I found it. I’m at my shop today till 3 or 4?

There are some many interesting options. I’m looking to upgrade to a low end commercial unit this year. I have been looking at this: Amazon

Iphone 14 pro and Ipad Pro’s have a lidar scanner built in. They work quite well but the scale of the scans is slightly off.

Thanks for sharing this info! I totally missed that they added this feature

Is there an app that goes along with it? I’m a gen behind, waiting on the new ones to drop in a few weeks, so I can only eagerly anticipate this feature.

There are few apps on the app store. Polycam is one I’ve used before and would recommend.
