3D Printing on leather

Cool idea shared in a FB group. Trying to think of all the use cases. She’s printing on the flesh side of garment weight leather with decent adhesion.

I saw something similar with tulle a while back (example here). Seems like a great idea!

This is really cool, but I can’t help but worry that the adhesion isn’t very lasting…especially when fully assembled and handled. I still think it’s a great idea to pair the two trades together, but maybe printing separately then using a contact cement (or a well-researched leather/plastic adhesive?) to bring them together.

Though maybe if you can rough up the flesh side a bit extra it would work out. I don’t know. Have you ran any tests? I’m very curious to know how this does.

I know the tulle prints work well because the plastic can adhere to itself AROUND the strands of the fabric, but leather’s not that porous.
