Exciting news: we’re going to reorganize!

3D Printing has been slowly encroaching on the MPR, and we’d like to consolidate things down a bit. @sarahmartin has procured a bunch of cabinetry and shelving for us, and we’re about to move a whole bunch of the printers around.

Our goal for Sunday, September 13th is to set up the east wall as described in that doc: set up a storage cabinet and move all of the Prusa MK3S+ and BambuLabs P1S printers to the 72" shelving unit (except Zephyrus).

The general plan:

  1. Move the printers and stuff from the big white table/pegboard and the P1S table to MPR tables
  2. Move everything from of the black 2-drawer cabinet and off of the 3D Scanner table to MPR tables
  3. Move the big white table, 2-drawer cabinet, and 3D Scanner table out of the way (disassembly may be required)
  4. Put the new orange storage cabinet in place
  5. Build the 72" shelving shelving unit (maybe leave the XL where it is for now)
  6. Put the printers onto the shelving and stuff in the cabinet

We’ll be starting around 11am, and I’m hopeful that with a lot of hands this will go fairly quickly.

If anyone has felt pads for the bottoms of the shelves and cabinets they could bring, that would be handy for sliding things around.

Do you know what size the feet of the shelving units are?

1.5" x 1.5" should do it.

Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped with the shuffle! We made a lot of progress and got the mk3s+s and the P1S in the new shelves.
