We are launching maintenance days for the 3D printer space every third Saturday of the month from 11:30am - 2:30pm. Our first maintenance day will be Saturday, March 15th.
Help keep our printers running smoothly and earn some volunteer hours! Whether you’re a seasoned expert or just curious about how the machines work, we would love to have your assistance.
Our primary goals for the day will be:
Clean the printers
Check printer calibration
Check major parts for signs of wear and tear and replace/order if needed
A huge thanks to everyone who came out! We had a variety of folks, from people who’ve never 3D printed anything to people with their own printers and many years of experience.
We did a tuneup on the Prusa MK3S+ printers, discovering a few issues along the way and replacing a cracked part with one we’d 3D printed in-house, repaired a number of punctured resin tanks and did the maintenance items on the resin printers.
We still have plenty to do: Three printers, the XL, the PolyPrinter, and the BambuLabs P1S didn’t get any love this time around, so come on by next month on 4/19, after the Maker Showcase finishes, and we’ll tackle those!
I was one of the newbies at today’s 3DP volunteer day event and learned so much! It was really fun to observe and assist however I could. Thanks for a fun time.
