There is a Woodruff key and a parallel key in the steward locker (bottom right corner) in the “Sawstop parts” box. If not look in the tool box. They are in plastic bags. If not, there is a square key on top of the parts cabinet that may work (by the light switch). There is a second one in one of the little drawers. Woodruff key is half moon shaped about 1/2” and the parallel key is an oblong rectangle about 7/8” long. Both are 1/4” thick.

Thanks Jose

I plan to be in Friday unless someone gets to it sooner.

This is where the key goes

Did we also lose the locking knob that goes into those threads?

No I just took it off for the pic

There is a set screw coming from the side in line with the parallel oblong key to secure it in place it may be missing. If is not it needs a drop of blue thread lock so it doesn’t come loose easily. There was some thread lock in the tool box. If not, check with Ethan in the metal shop he should have some. If the set screw is missing, there is a kit of different sizes either in the tool box or in the stewards closet. I believe in the Sawstop parts box there are a couple of them too but they may not be the right size. There are some in the little parts cabinet under the stewards closet light switch. You may want to check the front turning wheel (bladeup/down) to make sure the set screw is not loose. It is the same set-up.

I have a temporary parallel key in the slot. It’s too long, but functional with the problem that you cannot lock the blade in position.

We will need to look up the correct size key and order one.

Can’t it just be cut shorter with a cutoff wheel?

Probably? I’m not confident enough with cutoff wheel to try that. Maybe a bench grinder?
