While running the tool calibration after fixing Extruder 2, the printer realized that Extruder 5 was out of alignment. I tried replacing the nozzle in case the same bent nozzle tube that caused the problem in 2 was to blame, but with no luck.
Unfortunately, we don’t have another hot end to swap in on 5, so I think the next step is trying to get enough of the filament glob off of 2’s old hot end to get the nozzle out and seeing if a new nozzle there produces an in-spec alignment.
Is extruder 2 fixed? When I was there on 9/30 there was only a yellow tag on extruder 2 but the 2 was crossed out and had a 5 so I assumed it was 5 that had the problem. I did a print using extruders 1,2,3 and 4 and there was an alignment problem with extruder 2.
Sorry, yes, 2 is currently the one with a problem. The calibration routine successfully calibrates 2, but then crashes when calibrating 5 and doesn’t save the calibration for 2, but the calibration for 5 is apparently still good. The yellow tag should be on 2.
