There’s maybe 1/32” of the support remaining.

I contacted Microjig to see if they will sell just the base to replace the damaged piece.

If they don’t will ASMBLY replace this?

Couldn’t we just put a plywood base on it? Isn’t that what all those keyholes are for?

I have not seen that done, but it may be doable.

I’m in favor of keeping a good tapering jig on hand but I’m interested in if we can salvage this or make one that mitigates issues like this: maybe has some instructions lasered on, and also has replaceable tail ends

I think we have some jig hardware on hand.

If we have to replace this, that’s $130. I’d rather spend $100 on t-tracks, clamps, and other jig hardware to make one that will last longer.

Microjig offered to sell me a new base for $25, I took them up on that.

I’m open to trying the plywood / MDF base in the future but designing and cutting that (CNC most likely) would take a lot more than $25 of my time.

Someone has finished work on this and called it done.
