Issue type: Equipment Problem
Area: 3D Printing
Equipment: Prusa MK3S+ - Apollo
Summary: Apollo extruding problems
Additional Info: Apollo seemed to be extruding inconsistently on the first later. Blobby on some parts, and super thin or not present on other parts. I switched to sunwukong with the same filament and gcode, and it worked fine.

Report generated from a filing. This report has also been sent to Asmbly staff, leadership, and space leads with any contact info that was provided. Provide additional photos or resources here to help. When the problem is resolved, ensure it is marked.

We’ll take a look. What filament were you using and what temperature? @atwatsoniii

I tried PLA and PETG. I used the standard temperatures in the generic preset for each.

Someone has finished work on this and called it done.
Thank you for reporting it and helping us keep track of what needs attention.

The problem was that the z-height adjustment of the printer was much too close to the print bed. This was causing underextrusion because the nozzle couldn’t push out the filament, and then blobbing when the pressure finally got so high that it escaped.
