The next meeting for the final session before the big weekend with be Wednesday at 6pm.
Tuesday at 6pm we’ll be looking at the pallet rack and setup with @Jeffmc and @ewei . If you’re interested to see how it will all come together, come on-site to the woodshop to check it out!
Thank you for sending in interest on being a part of this great weekend.
In about 15 minutes (at 6pm) I’ll be running the last planning and information call before this weekend. (Zoom Details below). Please join if you can!
If you can’t, here are a few things to bring with you:
- Dust mask
- Gloves (to handle pipes)
- Water bottle
- Enthusiasm!
Friday morning things will get started early Friday. We’ll need help moving things out of the way to make forklift paths as well as a few hands to help setup the pallet rack. After that we’ll largely be on standby until the dust collector arrives. We cannot start tearing old things down until we set up the new thing. After the new thing is setup, it’s go-time for real! We tear all the old stuff down and push all the new stuff up. The action plan has a loose timeline, but we’re really going to be going as long as folks are around and able to help. We’ll break at a safe hour Friday and pickup early on Saturday.
Please show up when you can, there will certainly be things to do no matter where we are in the timeline. Either simply moving things, dusting things off, organizing pieces on the floor, moving cables out of the way, etc. If you don’t know anything about this process we’ll show you everything!
Saturday was another exciting and extremely well progressed day. We quickly dropped the T-Flux, the existing pipes, cleaning as we went. While the row of tools was clear we attacked a few other great wish-list items such as moving the table saw power plugs up high, correcting the low hanging hvac return by the small CNC, and removing all of that old dusty fiber glass above the CNC window.
Sunday we still need plenty of help and there will be breakfast lunch and dinner. Sarah is winning hearts and minds with her meal plan!
Finish hanging the last stretch of the main duct
Finish hanging all branches
Attach all blast gates
Move tools into place
Foam board insulation over CNC nook window
Drywall over CNC nook window
Make an obvious and good sign for custom the on/off button (lasers? 3d printing? Wood carving?)
At the moment the numbers are rolling in and we’re looking UNDERBUDGET! (Thanks again, Al!)
I know we tried to use my Ramp card for everything but in the fast paced motion of things, a few folks spent money out of their pocket wtih expectations for reimbursements. If you could please, forward any receipts or the amount and description of things purchased to me at robert.szabo@asmbly.org. Also please send a phone number that works with zelle. This will be the fastest way to get things back.
We try to stay away from this route, but I know we couldn’t avoid it in a few occasions.
