Hi all, I’m cleaning out my home woodshop and had been saving a lot of quality hardwood and exotic pieces that needed to go. I thought the community would find good use for them so dropped them off on the scrap cart, but am now realizing maybe flooding the scrap cart wasn’t the most helpful thing to do with the ongoing scrap cart guideline discussions. In any case, there’s lots of good stuff in there, walnut, sycamore, padauk, zebrawood, etc. If there was a better way to do that I’m all ears, still new around here.
Hi Daryan, thank you and I appreciate your awareness and consideration. I think as long as you reasonably believe they can be used by someone, there’s no issues.
This post is also a great way to alert folks of a big drop.
I’ll be by the shop later and will take a look. Currently, @Glory2God and I will help organize and clear the cart about once a week or so.
Stopped by a few hours after you dropped this off, again found some tiny pieces that worked perfectly for my project. Everything in the cart seemed very useable.
Thank you!!
Speaking of useable scrap! Any chance the person who dropped this off today uses Discourse and is reading this?
Would love to know what type of wood this is. I can’t get the end grain to cut clearly for a good ID.
@NickE That was me! That’s spalted sycamore. I have more that didn’t make it to the scrap bin if you need it.
