A huge thank you to @EricP @sneezix @Allzman @LivingOnTheEdgeKupec who all contributed their time, skills, materials, ideas, and effort to make the Little Free Food Pantry a reality. What started as a simple idea became a true community project, involving months of design work, construction, problem-solving, and collaboration.
I’m excited to share that the pantry has now been installed in the Far East Austin community and is already being put to good use. Residents there have expressed how grateful they are to have this resource in their neighborhood and commented on the incredible craftsmanship and care that went into its construction.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this project happen. I’m especially grateful because as someone who was new to the woodshop and woodworking, this project gave me an opportunity to learn an incredible amount from so many talented and generous people. Along the way, I picked up new skills, gained confidence working with the tools in the woodshop, and made some great friends. The willingness of members to share their knowledge and lend a hand is one of the things that makes ASMBLY such an amazing community.
