The CNC Salon is back!

With my return to Asmbly comes the return of one of my favorite community traditions: the CNC Salon - a space for connection, creativity, and a little sawdust.

If you haven’t been before, the CNC Salon is less about perfection and more about community. We start with burgers and conversation at Buddy’s (because everything’s better with fries), then head back to the shop to collaborate on a fun CNC project.

Save the date: Friday, August 1
:hamburger: 5:30 PM at Buddy’s Burgers
:hammer_and_wrench: 6:30 PM back at Asmbly to fire up the CNCs

For this first CNC Salon 2.0, we’ll be tackling a seating project - likely a flat-pack stool or Adirondack chair. It’ll be a hands-on, low-pressure build with plenty of time to chat and learn from each other. Details to follow.

Everyone is welcome - regardless of CNC experience. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or just CNC-curious, this is a great way to get involved and meet others in the community.

Come for the burgers, stay for the camaraderie, take the cannoli.

See you soon,
James & Steve

I’m out of town that week. Daaaang! Next time.

Reminder that we are meeting up this Friday evening.

For a project, we will be doing this free guitar stool project off the vectric website. There is a video walking through the tool path development as well as a downloadable file.

I bought the cheapest sheet of 3/4" sheathing I could find at Lowes today and cut the prototype out to confirm it will work. I will have enough wood for 3 more stools or feel free to bring your own 2’x4’x3/4" ply if you would like a version that is a little nicer.

See you all on Friday!

I’ll supply some 3/4" UV ply from dakota.

I cannot make it this time, I am bummed!
