Just something I noticed last week… The quarter inch collet is showing some wear and tear. It was still grippy and functioned for me fine, but should we replace it?
I was wondering the same thing. It seems to work fine, but definitely looking a little rough.
yes. The failure that happens is subtle. Your shanks on your endmills will start breaking from vibration. An out of tolerance collet will only grip the top of the shank. The rest of the shank will be unsupported and break.
The collet is damaged and will be replaced. I’m going to order one now
The new collet has arrived. I will drop it off
Fantastic, thanks Joe!
