It took 2 of us 30 mins to clean it out. The saw has been in service for 8 days.
If you are cutting material, with the dust collector on, and the saw is still spitting dust at you, please stop using the saw and investigate. If you arent sure how to clean it, find a steward or complete a problem report.
When I was there on Friday 4/15, the dust hose had become disconnected. I reconnected the hose, but it would have been easy to assume that since the central dust collection was on, that dust connection was running to the SawStop. I’m guessing that might be was caused the accumulation of dust described in the original post. I think the hose running to the new SawStop is a little on the short side, so the tension in the line is “trying” to pull it off. It might be worth putting a sign on the saw saying to check the dust collection hose before using the saw.
The original clog was caused by long skinny oieces of wood jamming the dust port, and people continuing to use it after. One thing to keep an eye out for, if the saw if shooting a bunch of dust out yiur cut, it’s likely clogged.
I’ll take a look at the hose, It may be short. If the saw is clogged, it will out extra force on that hose and could cause it to come loose.
