I tried searching for an answer to this in the wiki and the forum here, so apologies if this is one of those asked-answered x100 questions…
I imagine most of my use of the facility will be towards the later hours of the day. Is there any expected ‘shut down’ process? A sort of “Last to leave, get the lights please” sort of policy? Granted if I leave at 10PM, I have no idea if someone would be along an hour later to use the building, but it feels weird just walking out with everything all lit up and going. Besides making sure the dust collector or such things are off, just leave it as you found it?
Thanks!
Along the miter saw side wall, there are three switches along the wall, marked “lights” with squigly fonts kinda highlighted in yellow. Just be aware not all the lights go out. Up front the rest if the switches are by the entrance. Agai, not all the lights will go out.
We like to leave the lobby lights on, especially the mural side, so that no one is ever walking into a dark space and so it’s easy to spot at night with the mural. There are only really a few shop areas where we commonly turn lights off – Textiles, electronics, machining side of metal shop, and lasers.
Ah okay. So it’s mainly up to how tired or awake the person is if they want to turn off the remaining lights in the wood shop or the multipurpose room.
We should probably put covers on the lobby light switches. Installing occupancy sensors in the rooms we don’t leave lit 24/7 has been near the end of several workday electrical to-dos but we haven’t gotten to it yet
