The other day I was at the shop and the mortiser was not working for another member. The issue turned out to be a dual-channel switch that disconnected both the hot and the neutral wires. As a workaround, I connected the neutral across the switch so that only the hot wire is switched. I ordered a replacement switch and it has arrived. Just wanted to check that no one had already replaced the switch.
Oops my switch just arrived also.
If it is not working this morning. I’m installing a switch.
The switch has been replaced. I also tightened the electrical connections. It is working properly.
The air shock that keeps the head from crashing is missing. It is a 13" length gas lift strut. Probably a 30 lbs lift assist.
