I recently built a small planter box out of cedar and got the wood from Lowe’s. Wasn’t paying close enough attention to the price tag and payed almost $200 and the planks were warped to hell. Seems a little steep when I could’ve probably bought the same box for less.
Anyone got recommendations on where to source wood for projects around here?
You can search the forums for general recommendations for hardwood and sheet goods. For cedar you may have been better off with G Town lumber which is around the corner from Asmbly, across from Fine Lumber
Cedar does get pretty pricey at Lowes or HD. If G-Town doesn’t have what you need I’d also check on facebook marketplace. There are hidden gem type of deals on there all the time, or at least some cheaper options.
I didn’t realize that G Town Lumber was so close by, I thought it was in Georgetown!
