Interestingly, louis rossman stated in a new video let's talk about the next phase of my life - YouTube ← there some interesting news. Hes moving to Austin and wants to set up a makerspace for electronic stuff like board repair. Perhaps it would be useful to get in contact with him and see if asmbly can work with him?
Of course its just a suggestion but he has a certain amount of “star power”.
I reached out to his people, hopefully, I hear something soon from him personally.
Rossman is doing great work! I hope he’s able to make some progress on the right to repair movement.
If not us, it’d be good to also let him know about dadageek! They are a great organization focused on electronics and may be interested in collaborating with him as well if we don’t have the scale he’s looking for in the electronics dept.
I actually spoke with Louis last Friday irl about his new makerspace in West Campus. He is currently only anticipating electronic stuff, which is great because that’s something that we lack.
He is getting a ton of floor space, so I’m hoping that he expands the capabilities beyond just electronics.
