Long story short, a neighbor of mine had a large piece of his oak tree break during this week’s storm. It’s probably a foot thick, mostly straight, and close to 10 feet long.
Before we make it into firewood or ask the city to pick it up, I wanted to check and see if anyone wanted some, or see if the wood would make decent blanks for bowls.
It still needs to have the small branches cleared, so I expect he won’t be able to take the chainsaw to it for a few days at least
I could bring some/any to the woodshop, I just don’t want to overflow the storage. I see some rules of thumb for cutting pieces for blanks at (diameter + ~3”), so we can do that and hold on to some too
