Laguna Swift CNC Malfunctio

When I was setting the z height using toolset and the aluminum disc after a tool change, it did not stop when the bit touched the disc. Bit broke and the machine kept trying to drive the bit down. I canceled and got it to stop. Left a gouge in the disc.

I see that there are a couple of cuts in the black insulation jacket of the cable but I don’t see any bare wires. The plug did just fall out when I was examining the cable.

I’m abandoning my session. If this was my fault, I will pay for a new disc.

I’m also wondering if there’s some sort of bed horizontal calibration issue. I performed some engraving with different results across the workpiece. These were done on the same toolpath run with the same settings. In some areas, the letters came out at about 1mm width/depth as expected. In others, the depth is 3mm+. The narrow letters would’ve been at around X=1’, Y=3.5’ from the lower left corner of the bed. The deep letters at about x=3.5’, y=8’. My material is 0.1mm thinner in the areas where the letters are deeper.

I examined and brushed the spoil board pretty thoroughly before placing my material, and also checked the panel to be sure the vacuum was effective, so I would be surprised if the material was not making good contact.

Maybe it was user error, but I’m struggling to figure out where that would have been. I’m happy to share pictures, but I don’t see a way to do that on here.
