It was! But not anymore.
If you’re having trouble with the drop hose (or suction at any tool connected to the dust collector), please feel free to unhook the flex hose, check the hose and the tool. Disconnect the flex hose from the pipe and check for suction. If it goes beyond that and you are familiar with how to detach and reattach pipe you’re more than welcome to troubleshoot there.
I call this out because I should have followed my own advice!! I started at the pipes, but should have started at the flex hose.
I’ll take this as another opportunity to suggest to Never pick up anything more than saw dust with this hose. It’s powerful, but not that powerful. The hose became clogged after a little nest formed. I removed as much as I could by hand, but still it felt weak, so I disconnected both sides and shook it out. Out came a bunch of stuff!!
Hose etiquette:
- No large debris.
- Work slow to give large piles time to clear
- Don’t pick up large piles, get a dust pan/broom and then the vacuum for residual things.
