Tarkin is red-tagged for rebuilding the source. ETA for being back online at full power (it will be quite a lot of power) is Monday.
@J-LoM @uff-da Your bookings have been removed, as @dannym has already started repairs on Tarkin. Sorry for the inconvenience.
with quite a lot of power… comes a lot of responsibility!
Changing ETA to Monday.
Firing really strong, but I see some additional things to address.
@dannym whats the status of the repairs. There are bookings scheduled today, and a class this evening.
I got it all back together last night and things seemed fine with the tests I could do and, at the time, planned to have it green-tag today, but didn’t have my FLIR with me. I did a final inspection this morning and discovered a problem with a mirror that I will need today to fix. I had to consider if this was significant enough to extend the red-tag and bump today’s appointments. I think it is.
This will be ready by tomorrow.
The power output is outstanding, and I’m really happy with the results. It’s already cutting significantly better than library settings.
Fixed. Ok to green tag in skedda
Could we get a [Fixed] tag on this thread?
One upside to this- I did discover Tarkin has more capability than we’re using, because a pretty significant amount of the power is getting lost at the collimator. So, I’m shopping for a replacement that will get that back and really boost the power at the head
