i’ve got some large format cameras i made (24”x24”) and years ago i did some 24 hour exposure prints onto sepia paper. usually i sit the camera on large tripods.
this process required “fixing” using the conventional ammonia process in a blueline machine which i did at miller blueprint back in the day. anyway they get lots of comments.
i had intended on picking up this process again after with a portable blueline machine i picked up but i’ve run into a persistent “snag” in that supposedly the paper requires a 24% anhydrous ammonia for fixing the image onto the sepia paper. i can’t find this product and i am not aware of any substitute.
these are basically direct to paper prints. i’m wondering if anyone has any ideas for alternative processes using these camera or if anyone is interested in experimenting with them while i figure out what if any direction to take them.
alternatively if anyone has a lead in 24% anhydrous ammonia or any info on how to fix sepia paper once it is developed i’d love to hear about it since i have two rolls of paper - and a proven process - i’m trying to figure out what to do with.
pics forthcoming.
thanks
