Wow, this was a bit of a surprise to see posted here, but it makes sense! There’s an active DIY community that repurposes these exact pumps using their remote control functionality to allow diabetics to use advanced features, like using glucose sensor data to adjust dosing, reducing insulin to prevent lows, etc. Some of them use phone apps and a bluetooth link device, like Loop, AndroidAPS, and others. Others use a dedicated Raspberry Pi, like OpenAPS.

I’m one of the people who repairs pumps for this sort of use, as well as uses one of these DIY systems for my daily management. If you’re interested, I could give you more information on how these are used, as well as show you the all of the internal components of these pumps that our community has reverse engineered. Would also be happy to put it to use, as older paradigm pumps (especially ones with older firmware versions) are rare to find these days.

The motor assemblies in these pumps are quite advanced and high quality, and a metal bracket for holding them was one of the first things I made here at asmbly

I’ve sent you a DM with contact info, thanks!

Cool. I”ve put you in my phone so any calls will reach me.

I can make Friday work. Would the Leander HEB work for you? That’s only about a half hour drive for me so I don’t mind moving my order forward a week and since I usually spend about 30 minutes there for Curbside, it’s the easiest to arrange a long-ish meetup window if it works for you.
