The 1/4" collet is toast. It looks terrible and performs poorly. There is a new Techniks collet on order

@dash3811 I looked at the collets yesterday. The one that was trashed is for the instructor to show a bad collet. I went ahead and wrote bad on it. Someone must have switched the 2 collets when I was using the router. It is now labeled.
The bad collet for instruction is not kept in the user kit, it sounds like it just got left there
Unfortunately it was in the slot for the 1/4" collet
