Hi I’m working on making a tabletop game and am trying to laser cut some pieces out of a couple 2’ x 4’ x 1/4” pieces of birch plywood. I signed up for the laser cutting class on 2/28 so I can eventually make these things myself but was wondering if someone would help me make a prototype in the meantime?
I have the file ready and would be happy to help out however I can, and give $30 for the time.
If someone is available today or later this week let me know! I’ll be checking this website and my number is eight-three-two-696-8294
Thanks a bunch! And yeah it was baltic birch that I cut down from 4’ x 8’, is that an issue? If so could potentially pick up new sheets from somewhere else when I’m driving over
I’ve been recommending Lowes 5mm Revolution Ply for lasers. It’s sold as underlayment plywood, products sold as “underlayment plywood” have historically had poor appearance and lasered somewhat inconsistently. But not this stuff. I personally rate it above BB.
Cuts quickly and consistently, high strength, excellent face appearance (but that’s always a matter of taste). And it’s $27 for 4x8, and Lowes will make 2 cuts for free so you can get laserable panel sizes off them. I left a big piece outdoors for like 6 months, unfinished. It’s been rained on and dried itself in the sun. Warped itself somewhat, but didn’t delaminate which is crazy.
