2026 July CNC SIG This Sunday @ 12:30 PM!

Hey folks,

Just a quick reminder that our next CNC SIG is coming up this Sunday, July 5 at 12:30 PM in the Multipurpose Room at Asmbly, right after Laser SIG wraps up.

We’ve had everything from rotary pool cues and 5-axis angels to leather embossing and acrylic experiments lately, and it’s always a blast seeing what everyone is building. Hope everyone can save a lil bit of that patriotism for this Sunday (if the 4th didn’t take too much outta ya, haha)!

If you missed last month’s meeting, the recap is here:

If you’re attending remotely, the Zoom meeting is here:

Hope to see y’all there!

Also, I wanted to say that we’re having a special guest at tomorrow’s CNC SIG: Zach Simpson! He’s the AI guy who was well ahead of his time years ago, and who truly kickstarted the excitement for the CNC SIG in its current form.

He’s been working on a software tool for the CNC called Zig-Saw.com. He showed us a very early version to a few interested CNCers at Asmbly years ago. He’s now looking for opportunities to demo his software and ideally find some early users who can help him find bugs, prioritize features, etc.

This is a PHENOMENAL OPPORTUNITY for us to see how someone has moved from the early prototype stage and is now entering the late prototype stage. And I will be honest–I was blown away by his presentation years ago and I’m eager to see what he’s been up to.

Hope to see everyone there tomorrow, and Happy 4th!
