10/13/25 03:28PM Woodshop - 24" Resaw Band Saw - Grizzly G0569

Issue type: Equipment Problem
Area: Woodshop
Equipment: 24" Resaw Band Saw - Grizzly G0569
Summary: Tracking adjustment knob stuck
Additional Info: I replaced the brake shoe which required me to replace the blade. When I put the blade back on, I wasn’t able to get it to track properly. The blade is a bit too forward on the wheel.

Report generated from a filing. This report has also been sent to Asmbly staff, leadership, and space leads with any contact info that was provided. Provide additional photos or resources here to help. When the problem is resolved, ensure it is marked.

Any ETA on the resaw? Not rushing anyone, just trying to plan what to work on this weekend.

Someone has finished work on this and called it done.
Thank you for reporting it and helping us keep track of what needs attention.

As of 5 O’clock today it was still down which is a huge bummer. I am dead in the water on my project until it is fixed. Fingers crossed it gets fixed soon.

I know this particular problem was resolved a few days ago, I don’t have a track on any new issues at the moment. Please fill in some details for us for what y’all saw.

A few repairs have happened to it lately including a new break and a new back bearing.

Hi Robert - sure, happy to add details. My initial report was ~2 weeks ago when the saw would not power on. It seemed like an electrical issue as everything else we could see seemed OK. This was marked as repaired, and then the saw was working great for a few sessions.

I have not tried the saw since this report came in (not tracking well, blade too far forward) as the red tag was still hanging on the saw when I was last at the shop.

On Friday I took a look at it and the blade was not in between the lower guides, underneath by the lower wheel. Whomever installed the blade missed the guides and the blade was running up against one of the guide rods, which is probably what was causing the tracking issue. I was able to remove the blade and put it back on between the lower guides. This should stop the tracking issue that was reported. That is where I stopped though, I did not want to screw anything up.

I have another question related to the max cutting height of this saw. On the wiki, it is listed as 16-1/4 in. However, you can’t raise the height past about 12” (according to the tape) as the red metal part of the guide post assembly contacts the upper wheel. Is there some kind of adjustment needed to the guide post that can be made to get to the full cutting height? For now I have just limited my cutting to 12” or less.

Bumping for visibility. Also, I saw on Wednesday the tag was changed to yellow. Could anybody clarify the status?

Last weekend, @phurfphurf Helped me get the blade tracking and the guides aligned. It was cutting, but it was burning my pieces terribly (Alder). It seemed like this might have been due to all the pitch buildup on the inside of the blade, hence the yellow tag.

We gave the resaw bandsaw some much needed attention during the work day today and the red and yellow tags have been removed. The current blade is a little dull, even after a thorough cleaning. It may be sharp enough for your purposes but if not we do have a backup on hand.

Big thank you to volunteer efforts from Evan, John von, Eric, and a few others that helped make sure this was tuned up today

That’s great, big thanks to today’s volunteers!
