Issue type: Equipment Problem Area: CNC Equipment: Laguna Swift CNC 5x10 Summary: Excessively Deep Cuts in Spoilboard Additional Info: Posting attempt 2: There were several excessively deep cuts in the spoilboard in the last two days. One cut was blatant, a complete square. But there was another whole set that were about 0.03” deep, which is greater than our specified maximum of 0.02”. Pictures to follow.

One ridiculous cut; I didn’t measure it but it’s probably more than 1/4” deep. It’s a complete shape, so they weren’t paying enough attention to notice the problem and stop it. And I don’t recall seeing a mea culpa problem report. There’s just no excuse for this.
Here is the more extensive set of cuts. I have a bit more sympathy here, since this was more subtle, but I measured these cuts around 0.03” deep, 50% deeper than our accepted standard of 0.02”. At this depth, with this extent, you are starting to make it harder for others to use the machine effectively. (
The deep cut square was there when I used it last night…finishing around 9:30pm. But the other cuts were not. My job was 6 smallish circles and an 8 ft B like shape that left a faint foot print within the tolerances (I think)…you can kind of see it in the picture.
